The Igniting Innovation Summit will be the largest student-run social entrepreneurship conference in the NE. Through the Summit's Social Venture Challenge, students with promising solutions to pressing social issues will compete to receive funding and mentoring to fully develop their plans.
The $1500 would help cover essential logistical costs (such as food, materials, renting space, and transportation for our panelists) and allow us to fully execute our PR campaign at Harvard and other universities. We aim to host 40 speakers at the Summit and 250 students, representing a range of universities and career sectors including microfinance, agriculture, alternative energy, documentary making, and more. Aside from the Social Venture Challenge, we are also organizing two keynote speeches, 3 TED-style speeches, 12 topic-specific discussion panels, 6 action-oriented workshops, and an Innovation Showcase. With the $1500, we hope to create an environment that is both innovative and competitive to educate and encourage efficient action.
